I struggled with using the old-fashioned “beans and rice” to blind bake my pie shells—and I must have dropped half of them on the floor! That was when I realized that I could make a silicone “bean” bag for blind-baking pie crust. The silicone heart shape is filled with ceramic pie weights, and the unique heart shape extends further on the sides than a simple circle…and looks cute to boot! It’s simple to use; cut a piece of parchment paper out a little bigger than the bottom of the crust, place the SweetHeart Pie Weight in the center of the crust and bake as your recipe directs. When you are done, you can toss it in the top shelf of your dishwasher or wash it by hand. No more beans rolling around your drawer or falling on the floor!
