“For years I’ve wondered why home cooks didn’t demand a better fitting apron. At 5 feet, 2 inches, all the aprons on the market are too long for my body so I had to fold them over before I tied them; it was cumbersome and didn’t look great. My tall friends had the opposite problem, the aprons floated over their bodies and they looked like they were wearing a kid’s apron, “says Elizabeth Karmel, food writer, cooking teacher and creator of Grill Friends.

When Karmel finalized the basic Perfect Fit design, she added features that would make it more functional than any other apron on the market. “I added pockets for essential tools such as an instant-read thermometer and a grommet to slip a towel through, that way I always have a towel at the ready to use as a “hot pad” or to wipe my hands on. The towel goes with me everywhere so I don’t have to run back into the house to get it,” explained Karmel.
